Open Call – Marres European research programme school year 2023/24
Organised by: Marres
Marres is a house for art and culture in Maastricht with international
exhibitions, activities, workshops and a dynamic education department, where together with young people we explore how we learn about the world through our senses.
As part of a new European research programme, the education department is looking for schools that consider observation, research and experimentation important for their pupils. Schools that want young people to think outside the box and do a lot themselves, in order to become more creative and connected to themselves and the world around them.
Marres offers three types of projects for the school year 2023/24 for young people aged 12 to 14: The Invisible Collection, Body Works and Sensory Mapping. These can take place at Marres or be brought to the school. Each of the projects serves to motivate young people to explore their own perceptions. An arts-based research approach is followed, with exercises, tools and kits. Laurent Janssen, former student at Bonnefanten College: ‘At Marres, education is really something different. You invent things yourself and start seeing the world very differently as a result.’
If you are interested in taking part with your school, please email: educatie@marres.org.
Marres is developing part of its programme within the Erasmus+ project SenseSquared, supported by the European Union.
